Siding can easily be damaged by hail, and if you just bought a home that has been ravaged by the elements over the years, chances are that you’ll also find a lot of hail damage. When it comes to determining whether you have to repair or replace your siding, there are a few very important points to be aware of:
- Siding can be replaced quite easily, but the cost and the effort involve will depend on factors such as how large your home is and what type of siding you want to install.
- You don’t always have to replace your siding. Sometimes it’s enough to call an expert to replace individual panels, or even just repair them at an affordable cost. The choice between the two options will depend on the extent of the damage.
- Hail damage can sometimes be dealt with by simply masking it. If the area that has been affected is in a secluded part of your outer wall, and the damage is minimal, you can temporarily mask it using paint.
- In some extreme cases, hail damage has to be dealt with by having Roof One replace all your siding panels. When the damage is extensive, or your siding is old, this process is necessary, as the alternative could be that your outer walls would suffer extensive water damage in the future.
