Roof One Maintenance

The roof is the building component that takes most of the beating from the elements. Roofing materials are designed to withstand all that stress, but even so, regular maintenance by Roof One is essential for keeping that strength and for prolonging the roof’s life. Roofing maintenance is practically a succession of tasks that need to be performed regularly, ideally twice a year, once in spring and once in fall, to address any faults caused by winter and to prepare the roof for the next winter. Here are the activities involved:

  • Roof inspection – this task is essential for catching any roof problem in time. It should involve the careful and attentive checking of all roof components, including not only the roof surface, but the roof valleys, the flashing around roof openings, the vents, the chimneys and the gutters as well;
  • Cleaning – debris, such as dust, dried leaves, feathers and twigs, tend to gather on the roof surface as well as in the gutters. Removing them all is essential for keeping your roof strong and healthy;
  • Repairs – whatever issue has been detected during the roof inspection, it needs to be remedied quickly. Roofing problems, such as hairline cracks or exposed shingle mats, tend to aggravate quickly, so they should be eliminated in a timely manner.
