Low Slope Roofing vs. Steep Slope Roofing

Contents

Everyone needs a roof, but what type of roof system is best for your building? What’s the difference between low slop and steep slope?

At Roof One Michigan we provide commercial buildings with low slope roofs. We have been repairing and installing commercial low slope roofing for decades.  We have witnessed  many interesting issues!  Old buildings, new construction, remodels, you name it, when it comes to commercial roofing in Michigan, we’ve done it…And with outstanding results.

Roof system types | Everybody Needs a Roof Low slope roofing includes water impermeable, or weatherproof, types of roof membranes installed on slopes less than or equal to 3:12 (14 degrees).

Low-slope roofing There are five generic classifications of low slope roof membranes or systems. Click on a roof system for more information.

Built-up roof (BUR) membranes Metal panel roof systems for low-slope applications Polymer-modified bitumen sheet membranes Single-ply membranes Thermoplastic membranes (e.g., PVC, TPO) Thermoset membranes (e.g., EPDM) Spray polyurethane foam-based (SPF) roof systems Most low-slope roof membranes have three principal components: Weatherproofing layer or layers — the weatherproofing component is the most important element because it keeps water from entering a roof assembly.

Steep slope roofing includes watershedding types of roof coverings installed on slopes exceeding 3:12 (14 degrees).

Steep-slope roofing There are six generic classifications of steep slope roof coverings.

Professional, Knowledgeable, and stress free is how I would describe my experience with Roof One. From first call, a representative actually answers the phone with a friendly welcome. Jason was prompt and quick to come out and give a detailed consultation. Antonio’s crew was amazing! Not only were they on time, but a few minutes early. They made sure to walk me through the process and didn’t leave until the job was complete. Scott helped work with my insurance adjuster and went out of his way to make sure I was completely satisfied. Bill and Sandra in the office treated me like family and Steve, the owner, was very kind and welcomed me to the Roof One family. Phenomenal Job Roof One, my family and I couldn’t be happier - Thank you!

From the beginning to the end, Roof one really impressed me regarding their professionalism when roofing my house. In particular Steve and Mark managed this job wonderfully. The crew they sent over did such a wonderful quality job and made sure my property was free of nails and debris. I would definitely hire this company for a roof job. Very straight forward with their prices and options. I was also grateful they hooked up vent fans and provided a gorgeous flashing for my large chimney. Good job guys! Wish there were more contractors like you!
